Hair, hair, hair, long as God can grow it, my hair....

Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair.
Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen,
Give me down-to-there hair, shoulder length or longer,
Here baby, there momma, everywhere daddy daddy.
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair!
Flow it! Show it! Long as God can grow it, my hair.............

Well, that's what I think Jack will be singing on the evening of March 16. You see, 16 year old Jack has decided to shave his head for the "WORLD'S GREATEST SHAVE" fundraising campaign this year. For any one that knows Jack, they will realise that this is quite a momentous decision for him to do this. He has been wearing his decidedly unkempt 'do' for sometime now, and has many a 'discussion' with his school principal in regards to his "suitability as a representative of his school". You see, Jack has been a student representative on the school council since year 7, and last year was elected as Year 11 Prefect, much to the disappointment of the school principal, who had actually tried to discourage Jack from running, going so far as to tell Jack that he would advise others not to support Jack as "he does not fit the mould of a leader"....
Bah Humbug I say to you Mr Principal!! This child has a good heart and you had better cough up some money as a result of you finally being granted your wish! Of course, maybe Jack will look even more like a rebel with a bald head. What do you think?? Maybe he will look even less like a leader then....... OR NOT!!!
I can't quite imagine what my lovely boy will look like with no hair, and I'm not clever enough to photoshop him to see.......
If anybody would like to donate some money to support Jack in his fundraising efforts, please let me know; any contribution would be gratefully received and forwarded to the Leukeamia Foundation. This is an unashamed request for sponsorship.......... Any amount will be receipted. And it's tax deductible.
You can let me know via this blog, or email me;
Thank you.
I'll post the "after" shots for your viewing
Cheers, Cyndy ;0)

Thanks, 'Chell. After lookingn through other Mary blogs, I discovered that it's the same as Severina's. Oh well, you can't help good taste.
In regards to "the World's Greatest Shave", Jack registered last week, and we are still waiting for the documentation. I wish they would hurry up; Beloved and I both want to take info to work, and it's hard to ask people for sponsorship without proof of involvement. I would guess that funds would be due the week or so after the locks are lopped off on March 16. We're in town on the 18th, or GG can collect for us.

Thanks for your interest, Arty Farty Mary.

Cheers, Muggle ;)

Hahahahaha

Goodbye lucious locks. Hello Baldy...

I wonder how big his head is? Huge probably. Maybe it isnt and the hair made it look like he had bigger brains. Gosh. Weird. He should get those real ghetto stripey things. How rad.

Anywho, I am sure it will be fine... as long as he wears sun block on his newly shaved and delicate skin.

x's and o's

Good on you, and thank you Helen. I would imagine it's very freeing to shave your head. But maybe that wasn't what Britney was thinking....It is very tempting...I wonder what colour the regrowth would be?????
